Metro officer put on leave following arrest for alleged fraud

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Officer John A. Wilson was placed on unpaid administrative leave, effective Dec. 10, following his arrest on felony charges involving fraudulent workers' compensation activities.

Wilson surrendered himself at the Clark County Detention Center, where he was charged with fraud (industrial insurance benefits), theft and attempted theft.

Wilson was released on bail following the booking process.

Officer Wilson is 46-years-old and has been employed with the LVMPD since Aug. 1996. He is currently assigned to the traffic bureau.

The Nevada Attorney General's Office will assume the ongoing investigation and prosecution of this case.
