  • You know there's a lot going on in Las Vegas, but what should you do this weekend? Megan Telles highlights some of our favorite activities to make sure you have a great weekend! Video by ktnv.com

  • It's the most magical time of the year for the city of Henderson! Join the community this Friday (6p.m. - 9.pm) and Saturday (12p.m. - 8p.m.) for WINTERFEST! It's an event that's sure to bring it the most spirit out in you this holiday season! Take the family out for carolers, pony rides, holiday lights galore and a street festival at Henderson Events Plaza. Best part... admission is FREE!

  • It's all about presentation when it comes to good gift-giving. This holiday season, get some of that wrapping done for FREE. This Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 6:00p.m., drop by Sunset Station for this event if you're a member of "Boarding Pass" or Station Casinos' free Rewards Program. Donations from this event go directly to Salvation Army this holiday and benefit children in need.

  • The Ward 5 Christmas Tree Lighting is happening this Friday at 6:00p.m.! Head on out to Lorenzi Park and join Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow on Washington Avenue. Make ornaments with the kids and visit Santa as the tree lights up the community. 

  • This Friday is your last opportunity to take part in the Holiday Toy Drive benefitting Military families at Nellis Air Force Base. Take new and unwrapped toys to the front desk or Rewards Center at Aliante Casino + Hotel. Just a reminder to think kids *and* teens when selecting which toys to take the the drive. Happy giving! 

  • Great news: this Saturday, from 10:00a.m. - 1:00p.m. four laundromats in Las Vegas will be providing FREE laundry, washing and drying to low income individuals and families. The Laundry Project will have volunteers on hand to monitor the flow. Click HERE to see a list of the four locations. Happy washing and happy holidays, Las Vegas. 

  • The Blue Martini, located in Town Square, is transforming into The Nightmare Before Christmas this Saturday from 8.pm - 5a.m. Stop by the bar/restaurant for a chance to get in on the fun. If you bring 2 unwrapped toys to this holiday party, you get one free drink. Toys are donated to "Toys for Tots." Put a smile on a small child's face, all while making you a bit happy, too!

  • The all-new Nevada Ballet Theatre presents, "The Nutcracker." Join the team for opening weekend this Saturday and Sunday at The Smith Center for Performing Arts. The show runs through Sunday, December 23rd and will feature a new set, new costumes and surprises yet to be revealed. This show is child and adult-friendly and is sure to make the Las Vegas crowd go wild. Tickets are limited, so grab your today. 

  • This Saturday and Sunday hit the Fiesta Rancho SoBe Ice Arena for "The Princess and The Golden Skates." This is a holiday celebration...on ice featuring Las Vegas figure skates of all ages. If you purchase your $10 tickets today, donate 3 canned goods and receive $2 off. This is just one more way to get into the holiday spirit, this weekend. Shows begin on Saturday at 6:00p.m. and Sunday at 1:00p.m. Happy holidays! 

  • The Springs Preserve wants you to exercise a healthy eating/living style in the new year. This Saturday from 10:00am - 12:00p.m. take a class part of the Cooking Workshop series called "Bring in the New Year Right." Admission is $30 for members and $40 for non-members, per workshop. Reservations are required... so book your spot today! 

  • This Saturday, from 5:00p.m. - 9:00p.m at Casino Monte Lago there's a FREE "Spirits of Christmas Cocktail Walk." Walk through the Village at Lake Las Vegas while enjoy holiday drinks. This is a fun event and a chance for you to mingle with the community. Vote on your favorite cocktails to win a Stay-cation at Lake Las Vegas! 

  • Have you ever thought about what it would be like to see Santa in a 117,000 gallon aquarium? Well now you can! Every Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00a.m. - 1:00p.m., until Christmas, take the kids to visit Mr. Santa Claus and his helpers inside the Aquarium at Silverton Casino Hotel. They can tell him what they want for Christmas and enjoy this Santa visit with a little twist!

  • It looks like one local pizzeria is in the holiday spirit. Grimaldi's Brick-Oven Pizzeria is offering a special deal -- purchase a $50 gift card and you get a $10 gift card in return. You can purchase gift cards in store or online. Looks like YOU get a reward for GIVING this holiday season. Great pizza, great deal, great holiday season.  

  • It's the 8th annual "Miracle on 3rd Street" presented by Hogs & Heifers Saloon. This Sunday, join the fun as motorcycles deliver toys to NCCF (Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation) kids. Santa will be there with a toy for each child, on top of many activities on hand for them to enjoy. The event begins at 11:00a.m. at Sunrise Hospital NORTH parking-tent next to the Auditorium.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) --  It's the height of the holiday season and we all know that this time of the year means a ton of family, friends, love and, of course, food.  We tend to indulge, and that's ok, 'tis the season to enjoy holiday treats! But, the Springs Preserve wants you to look forward to eating healthy in the new year.

Calling all soon-to-be health nuts! This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas and professional chefs from Springs Cafe will host a cooking workshop called "Bring in the New Year Right."  Reservations are required as space is very limited.  

If cooking doesn't sound appetizing, maybe ballet does. It's opening weekend of "The Nutcracker" at the Smith Center for Performing Arts. You can catch the Nevada Ballet Theatre perform now through Sunday, December 23.  Tickets are almost sold out for this weekend, so you may want to get yours today. The first show is this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

 

Also, The Henderson Winterfest  hits the streets this weekend to celebrate old-fashioned holiday traditions. Get out to the Henderson Events Plaza Friday night at 6 p.m. Santa Claus is coming to town and the holiday tree lights up the community. The event continues through Saturday night.
