Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It is snowing on Mount Charleston.

A winter storm warning was issued at 1 p.m. Thursday and is scheduled to end at 10 a.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.

According to a spokesperson with the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort, approximately one foot of snow fell between late Thursday morning and early Friday.

They are expecting at least another three or four inches before the storm passes.

The winter storm warning was also expected to impact the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

The rain is expected to continue throughout the morning in the Las Vegas Valley but should clear by late afternoon. The high temperature for today in the valley is expected to be 54 degrees.

There is a twenty percent chance of showers once again after 10 p.m. tonight with winds from the southwest of 8 to 13 mph. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph at times.

The rain should clear out of the valley by mid-morning on Saturday. After that, it is expected to be partly sunny, calm winds, and a high near 52.

There is a good chance of rain again next week beginning Tuesday night or early Wednesday. It will also be windy on Tuesday with gusts up to 30 mph.
