Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Since her husband died one year ago, Rhonda Gibson has had a tough year making ends meet.

On Wednesday, a memorial of sorts was held led by the group Veterans in Politics. They explained the financial difficulties she's had paying bills and putting food on the table.

Rhonda did not want to talk, but a representative called out Sheriff Gillespie and his department for policies he says led to Stanley Gibson's death.

A federal civil rights and wrongful death lawsuit was filed by Rhonda's attorney against the sheriff and the 4 officers involved, including Jesus Arrevalo, who pulled the trigger and shot Stanley. In it, the lawsuit claims these 5 men were negligent, wrong, and responsible in some manner for the veteran's death.

Although they did not want to discuss the damages, monetary or other which the lawsuit seeks, they claim the lawsuit will bring closure to the grieving widow.

Donations are being accepted to help Rhonda Gibson.
