Mother accused of child neglect after son gets hit by school bus
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A mother of six is facing charges of child neglect after her 6-year-old son was hit by a school bus Monday morning.
The young boy suffered severe injuries to his right foot and may need amputation, according to a police arrest report.
31-year-old Kimberly Dela Cruz (also known as Kimberly Russi) was charged with two counts of child neglect for failing to accompany the boy and his sibiling to the bus stop.
Police reports show she has been the focus of an extensive investigation by Child Protective Services.
Police paperwork states witnesses told authorities the mother regularly left her children unattended.
It remains unclear if the children, some as young as 2 years old, are now under CPS care or with other family members.
