Large marijuana grow discovered in Pahrump
NYE COUNTY (KTNV) -- One man has been arrested in Pahrump after the Nye County Sheriff's Office discovered a "very elaborate growing set-up" and 79 marijuana plants in his home.
Narcotics detectives with NCSO served a warrant at 1511 Princeton in Pahrump on Dec. 7. It was not the first time that a marijuana grow had been discovered at the residence. Detectives also found plants there earlier in the year on April 20.
Many of the 79 marijuana plants discovered were as tall as four feet and in the budding stage. Detectives also discovered numerous large items of processed and packaged marijuana.
52-year-old Alan Edward Picone was arrested on the scene. Police are also looking for 41-year-old Kelly Ann Picone. Charges against Kelly Picone will be submitted to the district attorney's office.
NCSO says that Alan Picone has admitted his role in the marijuana growing operation.
Picone was charged with intent to sell, maintaining a residence for narcotics, unlawful use of a controlled substance, and conspiracy to violate the U.C.S.A.
