Police: Reno woman tried to kill hubby over porn
RENO, Nev. (AP) -- A 69-year-old Reno woman is accused of trying to kill her husband because he was reading a pornographic book.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Anita Lane English was booked into the Washoe County Jail on Monday on two counts of attempted murder of an elderly person.
Washoe County Sheriff's Deputy Armando Avina says the trouble began just after 11 p.m. when English's 69-year-old husband picked her up from a Reno casino. He says the highly intoxicated woman began to argue with him because she didn't like the book he was reading about unconventional sex.
Once at home, Avina says the woman tried to shoot him with a rifle but it malfunctioned. She then fired a handgun at him as he fled their driveway before calling police from a gas station.
