Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The mother of a child hit by a school bus on Monday morning is facing charges for neglect.

Police said 31-year-old Kimberly Marie Russi routinely let her two young boys go to the bus stop near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Cheyenne without supervision.

At about 6:40 Monday morning, her 6-year-old was hospitalized with a serious foot injury after being struck by a school bus.

Police were called to the scene and detectives later determined Russi's negligence played a role in her child's injury.

Russi faces charges for neglect of both children.

So far, no word on how the child is recovering from the incident.
