UMC holds annual drunk driving prevention event
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- You drink, you drive, you lose. UMC is holding its annual drunk driving prevention event outside its Trauma Center.
So far this year, 27 people have died in Clark County from alcohol-related accidents.
Nationwide, every 31 minutes another person dies because of people who drink and then get behind the wheel.
Friday outside the UMC Trauma Center, county and state officials will talk about the deadly consequences of drinking and driving.
Families of victims will also describe what it's like to lose a loved one because of a drunk driver.
Organizers say this is an important message to ingrain in our youth, so they don't make those bad decisions.
Students will be able to use the seat belt convincer and witness a rollover simulation.
They'll also be able to go "under the influence" by using special goggles to learn how alcohol can impair your vision and response time.
