Coaches welcomed at MAACO Bowl Las Vegas press conference
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The countdown is on until the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas on December 22, featuring a showdown between the University of Washington Huskies and the Boise State Broncos.
Thursday morning, representatives from the MAACO Bowl and local tourism leaders greeted coaches, athletic directors and select players from both teams at the New York New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian took the podium, sharing fond recollections of Las Vegas from his days as a player for BYU.
"I have a unique memory of playing at Sam Boyd Stadium for the WAC championship game as a player and winning the game in overtime," Sarkisian said. "So Sam Boyd Stadium holds a special place in my heart, and we're excited to play another exciting game here on December 22."
The Huskies enter the game with a 7-5 overall record. Boise State finished the season with a 10-2 overall record, losing just one game in conference play.
The MAACO Bowl Las Vegas will be broadcast on ESPN on December 22 at 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
