Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Although Las Vegas doesn't often see snow or the brutal cold that other parts of the country are faced with each winter, it can still get a bit chilly and many Valley kids are in need of coats.

The 13th annual Coats For Kids drive collected 1,500 coats  in October and now those coats are being distributed to those that need them.

Any family with children can pick up free coats from 8 a.m. to noon through Dec. 14. Coats will be distributed at the Salvation Army's Family Services Ministries office, 1581 N. Main Street.

Parents must bring a state ID, current utility bill or lease and rent receipt and birth certificates for all children needing a coat.

The coat drive was sponsored and hosted by the Salvation Army, Albertson's, Tropical Smoothie Cafes, Aramark Uniforms, Al Philips the Cleaners and Channel 13 Action News.
