Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 45-year-old man is dead after a fatal traffic accident at about 11:30 Monday night on Ridgedale Avenue, near Lamb Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive.

The man was later identified as David Williams of Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, two people were traveling in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Ridgedale at a high rate of speed.

As the car went through the intersection at Ferndale Street, the undercarriage of the car scraped the asphalt several times and began to spin.
