Pedestrian critically injured by SUV at Palomino and Rancho
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 75-year-old man is fighting for his life after being struck by an SUV in a crosswalk near Palomino and Rancho on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened just after 1 p.m., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
A police spokesperson said a the man was crossing legally at a light when an SUV turning left struck him, dragging him 50 feet before coming to a stop.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The area of Palomino and Rancho was shut down for several hours as detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Investigators said it did not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor.
