Las Vegas Rock N' Roll Marathon boosts economy
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- When runners and their friends and families are not in the actual Las Vegas Rock N' Roll Marathon, they are out about town giving our economy a boost.
Thousands of people are coming into the city from all over the world, and they are using the marathon and other events as an excuse to have a good time in Las Vegas.
More than 30,000 people are expected to run in the marathon this year, and with the NASCAR awards banquet also in town this weekend plenty of people came to have a good time.
That has the festivities spread out over the week and weekend. People are staying at the hotels, gambling, shopping, and going out at night.
Some say they have saved up the funds for this week's adventure under the neon lights.
Last year the economic impact of the race was more than $50 million.
This year the number of runners is down, but the marathon is still expected to boost our economy.
