Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Firefighters "filled the fire truck" to help provide a better Christmas for kids in need.

Saturday was the first day of the 11th Annual Fill the Fire Truck Toy Drive.

Firefighters from departments throughout the Valley volunteered their time to collect toys.

They were outside the Walmart on Marks Street for the drive.

Last year, more than 18,000 children received a Christmas present because of the firefighter toy drive.

Toys will be collected the first three weekends in December from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at five participating Walmart locations:

  • 7200 Arroyo Cross Parkway
  • 8060 West Tropical Parkway
  • 6464 North Decatur Boulevard
  • 4350 North Nellis
  • 540 Marks Street

The final drop off day will be on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation at 3111 S. Valley View Boulevard.
