World Aids Day observed around the world
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Saturday, Dec. 1 marked the annual observance of World Aids Day.
Numerous events were held around the Valley, observing the day, including one on Fremont Street.
Organizers were raising awareness about HIV.
30 years into the Aids epidemic, much progress has been made in treating the disease. But, many people continue to be infected.
It's estimated 50,000 Americans are infected with HIV, the virus that causes Aids every year.
More than one-million people in the U.S. are living with the disease.
