83-year-old's jaw broken in Reno purse-snatching
RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Reno police are trying to find the person who knocked down an 83-year-old woman at a Reno Wal-Mart parking lot and caused her a broken jaw.
Authorities say the woman was walking to her vehicle about 8:30 a.m. Thursday when a male suspect sprinted toward her and grabbed her purse. Police say the purse was strapped to her wrist, and the woman fell to the ground.
Officials say someone picked up the suspect in a maroon, four-door sedan and sped away from the Wal-Mart.
The woman suffered cuts and a broken jaw, and lost cash and credit cards.
Police say the suspect was light-skinned and thin. He was last seen wearing a cream-colored puffy jacket lined with fur.
