Thousands of Nevadans in danger of losing benefits
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The fiscal cliff isn't the only thing that Congress needs to deal with.
A major lifeline is at stake for thousands of Nevadans too.
We need another act of Congress or thousands of locals will lose federal jobless benefits.
The extensions started in 2008 and included up to 99 weeks of unemployment benefits.
The Nevada Department of Employment estimates that 25,000 Nevadans are in that program right now.
Nevada still has the highest jobless rate in the nation at 11.5 percent.
