Volunteers in Henderson stuff stockings for troops
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Volunteers in Henderson are spending the day stuffing stockings for troops overseas.
Members of the Henderson City Council, along with local volunteers and Blue Star Mothers, all gathered Tuesday at the Convention Center to collect items and fill stockings.
The Blue Star Mothers are a group of volunteers made up of mothers of children serving or who have served in the military.
The group made it a goal to stuff 1,500 stockings for local soldiers who are serving in the middle east.
Collection boxes were placed in various locations in the community in the days and weeks prior.
Donated items were brought to the Henderson Convention Center, where the public is invited to help stuff stockings on Tuesday and Wednesday.
