Coroner identifies motorcyclist killed Sunday in head-on collision
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified the motorcyclist killed this past weekend after a head-on collision with a car as 58-year-old Jim Burchette.
The crash happened at about 2:15 p.m. Nov. 25 on North Nellis Boulevard, just north of East Cheyenne Avenue.
A car traveling the opposite direction crossed the median and struck the motorcycle head on.
Burchette was pronounced dead at the scene.
37-year-old Prentiss Bates was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
It was the 96th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police jurisdiction for 2012.
