Family mourns loss of missing man found dead
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A family is working towards closure in the disappearance of one of their sons. His remains were found earlier this month and identified by the Clark County Coroner.
As you can imagine, it is no easy thing to deal with the news that your child has been found dead, especially after spending more than a year with the hope he would show up eventually.
David Miller was last seen at his Summerlin home on Sept. 4, 2011. Family first thought he may have gone up to Southern Utah, but a short time later his green Hyundai Elantra was found parked at the Galleria at Sunset mall.
Family has told Action News in the past that the 27-year-old suffered from depression and emotional issues.
On Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, A hiker found human remains in Boy Scout Canyon near Hoover Dam. The coroner identified those remains to be David's, but was not able to identify the cause of death.
"These last couple of weeks where we have dealt with this news has also been a bittersweet time. We feel a lot of God's love and peace in our lives and we miss David. He's a sweet soul and we miss him," said Kevin Miller, David's dad.
The Miller family is planning a funeral for David in the near future, and sends their thanks to the community who has helped support them emotionally, and have spent time looking for David when he was missing.
