Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you thought that waiting in line on Thursday or Friday was bad at some of the stores, you don't want to be stuck in the lines at the Department of Motor Vehicles on Monday.

The Monday after Thanksgiving is traditionally the DMV's busiest day of the year. That is why they have dubbed it as "Black Monday." Wait times are easily double or triple.

But, there are ways to avoid the long and agonizing wait.

First of all, simply don't go. Wait until another day later in the week if at all possible.

In addition, the DMV's website offers more than 20 online transactions. Most insurance issues can be handled on the Internet or by telephone and many transactions such as address changes or custom license plate orders can be accomplished by mail or fax.

Self-service kiosks offer even more services. The department added 25 new machines this year in locations such as your local Albertsons.
