Chaos, excitement fill local Target as doors open to shoppers
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- For many, the wait is over. They've been waiting hours, even days for Black Friday sales. Now, those competitive deal-seekers are in retail bliss.
Stores opened earlier than ever this year, with Target opening at 9 p.m. on Thursday.
The Target location near Stephanie and Sunset saw hundreds of shoppers eagerly awaiting the store's opening on Thanksgiving night.
"I've been out here since 5:30," said one shopper.
"This year we're looking for games -- video games, and an iPod touch," said another shopper.
Many people head straight for the electronics section when doors open.
"They head straight for those TVs," a store employee said. "They're looking for those electronics, gadgets."
A Target manager told Action News they stocked up on all of the popular items for holiday shoppers.
Those big-ticket items were what prompted customers to wait in line for hours.
"To me it's worth it, last year I missed a TV by twenty minutes," said Robert, who was first in line for this year's deals.
And it all paid off in the end -- Robert got his 50-inch TV.
But for some shoppers, Thursday night was just the beginning.
"We're not stopping until probably tomorrow night sometime," one shopper said. "We'll hit them all."
