Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Ring the purchase, swipe the card and bag it - tis' the season to shop with stores like Old Navy open Thanksgiving Day.

"Today we are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and we will close for four hours and reopen at midnight," Old Navy store manager Yelena Hamai said.

This is the store's fourth year opening on the holiday offering special deals to customers like buy one get one half off.

"We are having our Thanksgiving tomorrow so I came to take advantage of the better sales today," shopper Darcy Curry said.

Curry and others shoppers noticed the stores are quiet on Thanksgiving.

"The store today, really calm," shopper Tiffany Hiett said. "I was here yesterday and it was actually really busy."

That's because Thanksgiving Day shoppers know where to go and what they want.

"We are seeing people who did their research, who know what's open today and where they can go to avoid the crowds," Hamai said.

While some people are shopping on Thanksgiving, others are waiting patiently for stores like Best Buy to open at midnight for Black Friday.

Hyram Lowe is the first one online at a local Best Buy. He's been camped out since Monday.

"There's a really good deal on a TV," Lowe said "$140 and you get a 40 inch TV."

Shoppers are willing to wait for the doors to open and even forget that Thanksgiving meal, all for a good deal.
