Millions hitting road for Thanksgiving
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Millions of people will be hitting the road this week for Thanksgiving.
AAA is predicting that 90% of those traveling will be doing so by car. And with more cars on the road, that means there are more accidents.
AAA says drivers will be navigating unfamiliar roads, driving late at night, and many will probably be getting behind the wheel even though thy have had too much to drink.
The good news though according to the traffic tracker Intrix, fewer people will be driving this year than last.
AAA suggests drivers give themselves plenty of time and to drive during daylight hours. They also say to try and avoid driving on Wednesday, which is expected to be the busiest day.
About 26 percent more cars are expected to be on the road the day before Thanksgiving.
