Two inmates found dead in separate Nevada prison cells

Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- A 55-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell at the Nevada Department of Corrections High Desert State Prison, near Indian Springs.

On Friday, Nov. 16 around 4 p.m., inmate John Biasi was found deceased in his single cell.

An investigation is underway and next of kin has been notified.

Biasi was serving 10 to 25 years in prison for second degree murder and had a consecutive term of 5 to 15 years for use of a deadly weapon.

He was convicted in Clark County and had been in custody since Nov. 2011.

Also, guards found a 38-year-old inmate at the Ely State Prison dead in his single cell Saturday morning.

Winston Kelly was serving a life sentence for murder, robbery and use of a deadly weapon.

Both deaths are being investigated.
