Henderson woman pleads guilty in strangling case
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 36-year-old Henderson woman who claimed self-defense after her boyfriend was found strangled with a computer cord has pleaded guilty to a reduced voluntary manslaughter charge.
Tammy Lucero pleaded guilty Thursday in Clark County District Court in the May 24 death of 35-year-old David Hudson. Lucero was initially charged with murder.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that Lucero could face up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine at sentencing Jan. 16.
She told Henderson police she feared for her life and lost control but didn't recall what happened after Hudson allegedly put his hands around her neck.
Lucero is being held at the Clark County jail without bail while awaiting sentencing.
