Reno man suspected of arson at parent's house
RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Reno police have arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly set fire to a box of memorabilia on his parent's porch and the house caught fire.
Investigators say they were on their way to a domestic violence call on Lotus Street Wednesday afternoon when the alleged victim's son set fire to the box.
Police say the parent was able to extinguish the fire with a garden hose. But they say the inside of the duplex caught on fire and forced residents to evacuate from the attached unit.
Firefighters say it's not clear whether the house fire started from the burning box or whether a second fire was set.
Authorities say they arrested Kelvin Lytle outside the home on suspicion of first degree arson.
