Two dead, one injured after shooting in North Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two people are dead and one person is injured after a shooting Tuesday night in the 3100 block of Plumwood Lane, near Cheyenne Road and Pecos Boulevard.
The North Las Vegas Police Department received reports of shots fired at about 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police officers found an unidentified man and a 42-year-old woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene and the woman was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses at the scene told police that a man had fled into an apartment in the 3100 block of Orangewood.
After several hours, SWAT officers made entry into the apartment to find the suspect dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
NLVPD says that the preliminary investigation indicates that a man and woman were arguing near the entrance of her apartment when the man pulled a gun and began shooting.
He hit the woman and a man that was standing near her. That man died.
The relationship between the three people has not been established.
The identity and the official cause of death for both men will be released by the Clark County coroner's office.
