Man killed, woman injured in ambush shooting
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One person was killed and one injured in an ambush shooting at an apartment complex over the weekend.
Police said it happened in the 1900 block of Simmons Street in the northwest part of the Valley.
Officers were called to the scene at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man dead at the scene and and a woman injured from apparent gunshot wounds.
The woman was taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the two victims were getting out of a vahicle when someone started shooting at them. They said no confrontation led to the shooting, but it may be gang-related.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
