New Honor Guard formed at McCarran International Airport
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Just in time for Veterans Day, a new Honor Guard has been formed at McCarran International Airport, and it's helping veterans find jobs which allows them to keep serving.
The next time you're asked to remove your shoes, belt or any metal objects from your pockets, you may want to look twice at the men and women screening your luggage; they could be an American hero.
Nationally, 25-percent of TSA workers are veterans.
The airport's partnership with the TSA has recently formed an honor guard, made up of veterans.
Susan Johnston, who served in the Minnesota Army National Guard from 1977 to 1984, and is now a long time Las Vegas resident, says presenting the colors at special events is an honor.
McCarran airport officials say they look to employ veterans because of their character and discipline of ten acquired through military service.
There are plenty of jobs for veterans through TSA and McCarran. For more information, click here.
