Man falls down mine shaft near Railroad Pass
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Henderson Firefighters worked to rescue a 33-year-old man who had fallen down an abandoned mine shaft Saturday afternoon.
The incident began at around 3 p.m. in the remote desert area south of Paradise Hills and Wagon Wheel.
Officials say the man fell about 30 to 35 feet and suffered "significant" injuries.
Henderson Fire's Technical Rescue Team were able to perform a high angle rope rescue and pull the man out.
The victim was then transferred to a Las Vegas Metro rescue chopper and flown to a Henderson Fire Department Rescue where he was then transported to a local hospital.
They did not know what the man was doing in the area at the time of his fall.
