Las Vegas man convicted of credit card fraud
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas man was convicted in federal court Monday after using stolen credit card numbers to buy electronics.
28-year-old Ryan Masters was convicted on several charges including conspiracy, identity theft and criminal forfeiture.
Authorities said Masters used stolen credit and debit cards to buy electronics and then sell them between May 2010 and April 2012.
An indictment states Masters purchased the account numbers from someone in Pakistan and obtained customer records stolen from a hotel in Las Vegas. He's also accused of using computer software to predict gift card numbers issued by card companies, then using up the money before the cards' owners could.
Masters is scheduled to be sentenced in U.S. District Court on February 25. He faces up to 12 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000.
