Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A body was found in an apartment following a two-alarm blaze Saturday night in west Las Vegas.

Clark County Firefighters responded to the blaze at an apartment complex in the 6200 block of West Tropicana Avenue, between South Torrey Pines Drive and South Jones Boulevard, at around 7:15 p.m.

Neighbors told Action News that the woman who was found dead was in her 80s and was confined to a wheelchair. They said she was known for her kindness to children.

Neighbors said the woman lived in the apartment with her granddaughter, who was not there at the time of the fire.

One man was rushing around to his neighbors, trying to warn them of the fire at the complex.

Officials report that several apartments have been damaged by the fire. The damage is estimated at $100,000.

The cause is still under investigated.

The identity and cause of death of the deceased will be released by the Clark County coroner's office.
