Tonight on Action News Live @ 11: Action News is keeping a pulse on crosswalk safety in the community.

One of the many complaints we get is a shortage of crossing guards in our Valley.

So, why do some areas have none, while others have as many as four guards?

The intersection of Buffalo and Gowan has four crossing guards.

"I'm hearing on the news that there's a need for more crossing guards, but yet are we using the ones we do have appropriately?" asks Marcee Shafer.

Parents say absolutely not.

"You would think that they would get one of those to come here and help out," local parent Kris Kemp said.

Their children go to Tanaka Elementary on the other side of town, where there are two stop signs, a whole lot of kids and no crossing guard.

Parents are afraid kids are going to get hit at these places.

So why are some kids being left to cross this dangerous street by themselves? You Ask. We Investigate. tonight on Action News Live @ 11.
