Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local judge pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud and conspiracy in federal court on Thursday.

Steven Jones surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service on Thursday morning, according to a U.S. Dept. of Justice spokesperson.

He pleaded not guilty before a federal judge in a court hearing on Thursday afternoon. The judge ordered Jones to surrender all weapons.

Jones' attorney is expected to make a statement on the case.

Jones and five others are accused of running a fraud scheme to collect money from victims, promising returns with high interest rates.
