Judge pleads not guilty to fraud, conspiracy
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local judge pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud and conspiracy in federal court on Thursday.
Steven Jones surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service on Thursday morning, according to a U.S. Dept. of Justice spokesperson.
He pleaded not guilty before a federal judge in a court hearing on Thursday afternoon. The judge ordered Jones to surrender all weapons.
Jones' attorney is expected to make a statement on the case.
Jones and five others are accused of running a fraud scheme to collect money from victims, promising returns with high interest rates.
