Nearly half of Nevada voters cast early ballots
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nearly half of active Nevada voters have already cast ballots in the upcoming election.
Figures provided Thursday by the secretary of state's office show more than 575,000 Nevadans, about 46 percent of active voters, have cast ballots either in person or by mail.
Of those who have voted in person, 45 percent were Democrats, 37 percent were Republicans, and the rest were nonpartisans or voters affiliated with minor political parties.
The two-week early voting period in Nevada ends Friday. After that, voters will have to go to specific polling locations on Tuesday.
Democrats hold a 90,000 voter registration advantage statewide.
