Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) --   It’s time for all UNLV alumni to unite!  The fun starts today with a UNLV Homecoming Celebration and Parade at Town Square Mall.  Dress in scarlet and gray and join the fun from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Enjoy carnival rides, giveaways and get in the Rebel spirit!

This is all in an effort to pump up Las Vegas for the UNLV Homecoming football game going down this Saturday.  The boys take on New Mexico at Sam Boyd Stadium at 1:00 p.m.  The half time show is going to be special, so be sure to grab tickets to the game today.

And in this week’s social spotlight  our Facebook fans took to the polls this week. And not to vote for the next president, but we asked you to vote on the event you wanted to learn more about. The results are in and the winner is:

The Veterans Memorial Day Service in Henderson...

One Facebook fan, Laurie Vu, passionately wrote on our page saying “…we have many that have served our country and have lost their [lives] fighting for our country we need to focus on paying tribute to our veterans.”

That’s exactly what’s happening this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Get out to the veteran’s memorial wall in the City of Henderson for a presentation of the colors by Basic High School's J.R.O.T.C.  Then, one of the most moving portions of the event is the reading of the names, paying tribute to Henderson Veterans recently deceased. These names are engraved on the black, marble wall to honor their contributions in keeping our nation free.
