Man fatally shot by police identified
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The man shot and killed by police on the east side of Las Vegas Monday has been identified.
He was 52-year-old Ronald James Morrison of Las Vegas.
Morrison was shot by Metro officers after police said he brandished a gun.
The ordeal started when officers were called to a parking lot on Desert Inn Road near South Eastern Avenue for reports of a shooting.
Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to the hand. The gunman fled on foot to a back alley, and police followed him. That's when officers said he brandished a gun and officers fired at him.
Morrison was declared dead at the scene.
The officers involved in the shooting have not been identified. They were placed on routine administrative leave pending an investigation.
