Interstate reopens after suspicious vehicles investigated near Creech
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- U.S. Highway 95 was closed in both directions this morning near Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs.
According to a statement from Creech Air Force Base, military law enforcement responded to suspicious vehicles near the base's main gate at about 3:45 a.m. this morning.
Military dogs trained to detect explosives alerted during a routine check of the vehicles.
Local and state law enforcement responded to the scene since the vehicles were outside the base's perimeter.
As a precaution, Nevada Highway Patrol shut down the interstate in both directions from State Route 156 to State Route 160.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's bomb squad was called in to investigate. However, no explosives were found.
Two individuals were briefly detained during the search but have now been released.
