Firefighters selling T-shirts to raise money for breast cancer research
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Some off-duty Clark County firefighters were wearing pink Friday to support breast cancer.
They showed up at the Las Vegas Sign for the Passionately Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness effort. Through the end of the month, their fire truck will be wrapped in pink and they'll be selling T-shirts.
"The community has been very supportive, even just our fire engine that's wrapped in pink. Through October we had certain days that we actually wore our pink shirts on duty and we had a great response from the public," said Brian Beeman, President of the CC Firefighters Local 1908.
The firefighters have already been spotted wearing pink in action. The shirts are $20 each and proceeds go to Susan G. Komen.
Last year, firefighters raised more than $7,000.
