Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Metro detectives say they've caught two suspects accused of breaking into cars and businesses in the Summerlin area.

Businesses near Town Center Road and Summerlin Parkway were Kevin Dione's primary target, according to Metro Detective Anthony Archer.

Archer said Dione's typical way of getting into those businesses was by throwing a big rock through a window, then coming out with expensive electronics.

"A number of projectors, laptops, very nice flat-screen TVs," Archer said.

Surveillance video helped police nab Dion, but they discovered he wasn't acting alone. They say his partner in crime, Danelle Mitchell, was robbing valuables out of parked cars.

"Anything from an iPad, to your purse, to a credit card," Archer said.

Archers said they were tipped off to Mitchell when she went shopping with a stolen credit card.

Police believe the two had been breaking into cars and businesses in Summerlin for at least three months, striking when no one was around to spot them.

"The moral of this story is, there are some pretty violent criminals out there, finding any way, any means to get a hold of your identity or your property," Archer said. "Don't leave anything in your vehicles. Don't make it easy for these suspects to take anything out of your car."

When police finally busted the two together, they found thousands of dollars worth of stolen property in their car. They also found a stolen gun, which Dion is not allowed to have because as it turns out, he's a convicted felon.

Metro said it was a three-month investigation that ended just as they hoped it would -- with a pair of criminals behind bars, unable to steal from any more innocent people.
