Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Video uploaded on Facebook shows a Chaparral High School student beating up another girl in the hallway, but CCSD police said there's more to this attack.

"It's a battery two students got into a disagreement resulting in a battery and that's exactly what it is," Capt. Ken Young said.

According to Young, the two girls got into a verbal dispute until one decided to get physical pulling hair and throwing punches.

"Anytime a student feels like it's gotten to the point where they have to use force it's a concern," Young said.

It's also a concern for another Chaparral student who we're not identifying because she's afraid of retaliation. After seeing the video online the student said she's not going back to Chaparral.

"You're walking from class to class and you never know when somebody might just jump on you and beat you down," she said.

The students said she's been threatened by the aggressor in the video, but school police cannot confirm if the aggressor has a history of fighting. Still, the student said she's switching schools starting Monday.

"A physical fight isn't going to resolve anything," she said. "It's just going to cause more problems and more people are going to get into it."

Young said the aggressors been cited for the fight and must appear in court. He also has a message to students that if you feel threatened, speak up!

"Talk to an administrator, talk to a teacher, talk to law enforcement," Young said. "Don' walk into it walk away from it."

As one of CCSD's "turn around" schools, Chaparral has made major strides in improving campus safety. CCSD police said parents should talk to their kids about fighting in school and give them the skills they need to help them prevent altercations.
