Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The race for the White House has come down to a handful of battleground states.
And Nevada is one of the three states where Latino voters could play a significant role.
The election is less than two weeks away and the latest polls have President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney nearly tied.
So, every vote counts in the state of Nevada and that is especially true of the Latino population.
Both candidates are pushing for support from that group in Florida and Colorado as well.
An estimated 12.2 million Latinos will vote in this year's election. That is a whopping 26% increase over 2008.
Their top concerns are the economy and immigration reform. Both campaigns have focused on those topics in recent rallies and political ads.
However, many Latino voters have expressed frustration that the president hasn't met his goal for comprehensive immigration reform. But, he has earned credit for a new policy that would allow young undocumented immigrants, brought here by their parents, to stay in the U.S.
Recent polls show that President Obama is winning about 70% of the Latino vote and both campaigns say the president's margin among Latinos on Election Day could be the key to victory.
