Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- We often ask viewers for help but now we are looking for viewers who NEED help.  For some reason, the Salvation Army says not many people have signed up for it's Christmas Angel Tree program this year.  If you need help with Christmas gifts for your kids, head to the Salvation Army on Palamino Lane this Saturday from 8 to 2.

Darren Thames is the Director of Family Services Ministries at the Salvation Army.  He says, "We have families come in who were making 70 thousand a year and lost their job and for the first time they are coming in and asking for help. It's not just low income families but families struck hard by this economy."

You need to bring an ID on Saturday along with proof of your income.  The rest is up to the Salvation Army and it's community partners.  They will work to ensure every child in Southern Nevada had a Merry Christmas.

If you are a family who would like to help the Salvation Army, this Saturday is the Community Day of Sharing. Just go to any Albertsons/Save-on store and donate non-perishable food items or gently used clothes.
