Las Vegas man dead after cliff jumping at Lake Mead
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 28-year-old Las Vegas man is dead after cliff jumping over the weekend at Lake Mead.
Rangers say they got reports about 1 p.m. Saturday that a man was severely injured and unresponsive.
The man's friends recovered him from the waters near Wishing Well Cove and took him to Hemenway Harbor, where they met with paramedics and he was pronounced dead.
He's been identified as Jared D. Jarvis.
Officials with the Lake Mead National Recreation Area say it appears alcohol and drugs contributed to the death.
