VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Authorities say they've found a 38-year-old inmate who escaped from the Storey County jail two weeks ago.

The Storey County Sheriff says Jeremy James Morales was captured a few miles from the jail on Monday evening. Officials say an ATV rider had reported seeing a suspicioous person who matched Morales' description, and authorities later found him hiding in weeds.

Sheriff Gerald Antinoro says Morales was dehydrated and had injuries to his feet. But Antinoro says he was otherwise in good health and still wearing his jail uniform.

Morales escaped the Virginia City jail Oct.1, the day he was set to be sentenced on a child sex assault charge. Deputies say he hid in the shadows of his cell, then shut an officer inside when the officer went to check it.
