Police: Law students beheaded bird at Las Vegas hotel
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two law students were arrested Friday after police said they killed an exotic bird at a hotel exhibit on the Las Vegas Strip.
Authorities said Eric Cuellar and Justin Teixeira, both 24, killed a Helmeted Guinea Fowl in the wildlife habitat at the Flamingo Hotel.
The men allegedly chased the bird, severed its head then were seen throwing the bird around and laughing.
Surveillance video captured some of the incident.
Hotel security detained the men and called police just after 9:30 a.m.
Cuellar and Teixeira told police they are law students at University of California, Berkley.
Both men were arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on charges of conspiracy and killing wildlife.
