Pets killed, family displaced in early-morning house fire
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Firefighters responded to an early-morning house fire Friday in the 7400 block of Schuster Street, near South Valley View Boulevard and West Warm Springs Road.
The fire began just after 3 a.m.
According to initial information, the family that lives in the home was using a fire pit outside on Thursday night and thought they had completely extinguished the fire.
The fire reignited in the fire pit and moved to the house and into the attic.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly but the damage to the house is extensive.
The two adults and two teenagers that live in the house were able to escape. However, the family had several pets and not all of them survived the fire. A dog and a cat were killed.
The initial damage estimate is $200,000.
