Classes canceled at Desert Rose High School due to weather
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Classes were canceled at Desert Rose High School after harsh weather prompted road closures in the area.
Desert Rose operates both a standard high school and an adult high school. All classes between 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday are canceled.
The Clark County School District expects classes to resume Friday.
The school is located on West Brooks Avenue, near Cheyenne and Commerce in North Las Vegas.
Officials said the school itself was not flooded, but nearby roads were.
"We are working diligently to ensure a safe learning environment for all students," A school district spokesperson said in an email.
